In France, AUSY has promoted Agility for more than ten years. On the international level, especially in Germany, Belux, Romania and the U.S.A., our teams prefer this production type  over more traditional approaches. In all of our delivery centres, we use, at the very least, Scrum, Kanban and extreme programming (XP). Our main clients are large organisations that have either switched over to Agility or are currently in the transformation phase towards Agility.
Moving towards Agility, a cultural disruption
Initially, agile methods focused exclusively on software development. Today, Agility has seen a huge upswing, with improved practices and increased use in the last several years. Its field of application has been extended beyond software development and can be adapted to all kinds of production and activities.
Thus, it is not just a matter for Information Security development teams. It is a corporate value chain linking all occupations. Therefore, it is essential to place agility’s organizational dimension at the forefront of our concerns.
Agility must be considered as a cultural innovation. Becoming agile implies a transition towards new expertise, a new work culture which enables us to better navigate and adapt in a perpetually changing environment. This cultural transition must be supported.
A response to new digital challenges and, more broadly, performance of businesses:
The change in “time to market” constraints, the obligation to constantly innovate, the need to reduce costs, the will of clients to always be more reactive: all of these dynamics require an evolution of classical organisation theory and of project follow-up, which have dominated since the end of the 1970s.
Agile methods are more efficient than traditional methods. They allow us to respond more positively to these demands because:
- the methods involve the client as much as possible;
- it is possible to be extremely responsive to demands;
- final user needs can be targeted and truly satisfied.
Agility is impossible without a highly-equipped and automated environment with powerful development and production abilities. By adopting digital technologies and new tools, we are able to become more and more agile.
AUSY: An Agile Ecosystem
AUSY relies on a true agile ecosystem built over years with a diverse range of partners. This includes coaching groups in agile organisations, agile pure players, certified instructors, independent consultants, the open source community and agile software editors.
Internally, AUSY is developing an agile guild on an international scale. This allows our agilists, which number over 1500 and are spread over four continents, to interact and communicate with each other on an ongoing basis.
AUSY has also set up an Agile Institute as part of AUSY University. This institute offers ad hoc training and support for teams and clients, whether as part of coaching or with à la carte, in-person or e-learning sessions. The Agile Institute also offers certified agile training sessions through its network of authorised training partners.
AUSY has positioned itself across the agile value chain in order to support its clients in the development of their organisation and management, to deliver agile services and to build and maintain software and computing systems using best practices in the field.
